Each year, American Banker and Bank Technology News, SourceMedia's renowned publications for banking and financial services professionals, in association with IDC Financial Insights, evaluate the revenues of the leading global technology and service providers to the financial services industry and construct the FinTech 100 rankings.

2010 represents the seventh year that we formally recognize the leading 100 global technology and service providers to the financial services industry. Links to past American Banker supplements containing the FinTech 100 rankings are available via the navigation on the right side of this page.

The 2010 ranking will categorize and evaluate vendors based on year-end adjusted revenues attributable to financial institution hardware, software, or services sales. Two categories of companies are ranked:

FinTech 100 – includes vendors that derive more than one-third of their revenue from the financial services industry.

FinTech 25 – includes enterprise companies in financial services who are horizontal technology firms and sell products and provide support services across multiple industries but derive less than one-third of their revenues from this vertical.

In addition, for the 2010 publication, a subset ranking will highlight the top 10 providers to the banking, capital markets, and insurance sectors. A ranking of data providers will also be included. Revenue from sales of network, telecommunications, electronic exchanges, and data services are EXCLUDED, as these business lines are not application technologies essential to running financial companies. Firms, such as market data providers or credit bureaus, that derive significant revenues from excluded categories but also had revenue tied to software, hardware, or services will be considered in these rankings, but only for the qualifying portion of their revenue. The portion attributed to data will be used to qualify for the data providers ranking.

The 2010 rankings will be published in October 2010 as a Special Report in American Banker, as well as in the November 2010 issue of Bank Technology News. In addition, bonus distribution occurs at the BAI Retail Delivery Conference and Expo, as well as other industry events throughout the year. A recognition breakfast will take place in Las Vegas on October 20, 2010.

Your completed application must be submitted by July 2, 2010.

The data collected in this process is only for use by IDC Financial Insights' research analysts to prepare the FinTech rankings.
