Matt Sauer is a global research manager with IDC Financial Insights. Based in London, Sauer leads the Securities and Investments Strategies practice and is responsible for consulting, research, and thought-leadership projects. He specialises in core technology, such as mobile technology, cloud computing and social media, and their adoption and implementation across the technology infrastructures and business models of capital market firms.

Sauer has over five years' experience working in capital markets, with three years' experience providing research and benchmarking services to global investment banks. In his previous role as a senior research consultant at a boutique research house and management consultancy, Matt worked closely with C-suite decision makers informing them on industrywide best practices in IT infrastructure, risk technology, and regulatory compliance.

In addition to an honors degree from the University of Liverpool, Sauer also holds an aPRM qualification in risk management.
