This Financial Insights Perspective provides the FinSights Advisor's weekly perspective on the financial services industry. It provides financial institutions with timely guidance about maximizing one's technology investments. This week's issue focuses on the "greening" of the financial services industry. In many financial institutions, the concept and the mission seem firmly planted on executive desktops. Is being green just marketing hype? Are any institutions making a real difference and, if so, in what ways? Is there a "green enterprise" framework that institutions can utilize to balance business demands while building a "greener" AND better bottom line? This document provides a framework that defines greening, particularly on initiatives and issues that fall outside the datacenter, for all three financial industry segments (banking, capital markets, and insurance). In addition, it provides guidance to financial institutions, FinTech, and infrastructure vendors that serve one or more of the industry segments.
